![]() ![]() I can say, do NOT return/discontinue your Navisworks licenses - this will be worked out, it may take a couple of months but it *will* get there. If you cannot get it working, you should still have rights to use the Navisworks 2016 products until the CADWorx 2017 version is released (probably a month or two, barring major problems). If the export utility is installed, and the command still doesn’t work, check to see if the nwexportdbx201.crx (substitute for version number) file is loaded as application in AutoCAD: At the command line, enter APPLOAD. In theory, the latest CADWorx OE should work in Navisworks 2017. First, make sure the Navisworks NWC Export Utility is installed. engineers) we had to run CADWorx once before Simulate would pick up on the OE included with the actual program. Under Options Editor>Model>Performance, make sure Close NWC/NWD Files on Load is checked. In other cases where we had CADWorx installed but the user only uses Simulate (e.g. If you’re working on doing quick iterations of Navisworks models from AutoCAD or Revit, and have to continually unload your appended models in order to export the models from your modeling program, there is a convenient workaround to this. With some older releases I've found we need to start Simulate first, then CADWorx, in order for Navisworks to use the OE properly. Products and versions covered Issue: You are using a version of AutoCAD such as 2017 and would like to export to an older NWC file format but there is no option to export to the older version using the NWCOUT command. Check the CADWorx forum for that, there was a recent discussion on it. There's a known problem with the CADWorx OE, where the registry key can flip to a different value if the CADWorx program is run. There was a recent discussion here on the "why" of older DWG Reader version not being provided. It can help with some of the vertical products, but not in your case. Yeah, the "shaded visual style then export" method isn't applicable for CADWorx. ![]() Thanks for being a Autodesk Community member. In the File Reader section, switch the render mode from automatic to shaded Choose the same version als your Navisworks, not the same version as your AutoCAD.Ĥ) Before the NWCout command, perform the command: NWOPT Issue: You want to know if its possible to export NWC files in an earlier file version using the Navisworks Exporter Plugin installed on Autodesk applications (e.g. If CADWorx is loaded, you should not get it.Ģ) Set your view mode to Shaded with Edges in AutoCAD.ģ) Install the Navisworkx Exporter. Going from CADWorx to Navisworks needs some changes to your options etc.ġ) Be sure that when you open the CADWorx DWG you do NOT get a message about proxy graphics. Re: Navisworks 2017 object enablers and DWG format version ![]() Patrick_Aps_9121 (Advisor) posted a new reply in Navisworks Forum on 09-29-2016 09:51 PM : I downloaded the Navisworks exporter anyway to see if that would solve it, but I still get wireframe. If I have to export/append every time, simulate doesn't do me any good, I can use Freedom for that, and I will be requesting a refund. ![]() I want to open the DWG from within Simulate and save as an NWF like I have done for years, that way I can refresh /F5 (the NWF) when I save in AutoCAD and it shows the changes I just did. The question "which software created this FBX" is open and quite interesting, because it's unusual that a scene with maybe 10 materials assigns every object a different one.īe careful also about the units! Because the FBX thinks it's in Centimeter while I think it should be Meter.I do not want to use NWC's. but that's just one thougth, there may be a lot other reasons. While AutoCAD 2018 ignores then the materials AutoCAD 2017 seems to crash with that number of materials. So my resume is: the FBX is has valid content as it shows well in NavisWorks, the geometry and the material looks ok.īut the number of materials is equal to the number of objects and that seems to reach a limit.
